Whitewater Raft at Riversport OKC (More Action than the Illinois River in Oklahoma)

If you love outdoor adventure, this is for you! Oklahoma City spent over $45 million to build this incredibly whitewater rafting and kayaking center called Riversport Rapids. You can’t miss it.

If you’re married to someone who loves outdoor adventure, but also loves being 10 minutes from a great coffee shop—even better. This place is located right inside OKC! It’s a much easier sell to the ” non-adventure”members of your party. The travel time is practically nothing from downtown.

While the Illinois River in Oklahoma is a delightful quaint, peaceful, bucolic drift down a nature river, this will appeal to anyone who wants a water thrill. The first person I talked to who did it was my senior 60+ chiropractor. If you have no experience, no problem. The rapids are class II-IV (translation: not boring, but not big enough to scare you) and you’ll get to go several times. The guides are Oklahoma friendly, caring, and very sensitive as well. Your safety is always a priority.
